At the nature center

Carolyn especially enjoyed Bonnie, the turtle.

They also got to pet a bearded lizard.
Nora was most fascinated with this little pool of water filled with turtles.  I am quite sure if I hadn't sat right next to her, she would have been in with the turtles.

Flashlight fun

I don't know if these girls ever saw Star Wars, but they look like naturals in a light saber battle.  They liked going in a closet with a mirror and waving the flashlights around and giggling.

Tuesday, by Carolyn

We went to the pet store.  I liked all the fishies.

There were lots of dogs jumping and barking.  We saw birds too and a guinea pig.

I got to help make pizzas for dinner.  Ammy says I am a good cook!
After dinner and baths, we watched the dragon movie with Papa.  It was a good day.

Aren't we going to obey? by Carolyn

We saw a man holding a sign yesterday.  I asked Ammy what the sign said.  She said the sign said Buy Pizza at Pizza Place.  I asked her if we were going to obey the sign.  She said, no we did not have to obey every sign, just if it was a policeman or something.  I didn't really understand this, but maybe I will someday.

Late afternoon snacks

Ammy would like for you to know that I kept my clothes on for my nap today.  Not sure why it matters so much, but she seemed ecstatic over this little feat.
I think the yogurt is better than the cookies
although Carolyn prefers the cookies!
I hope I can make silly faces like this when I am 4.
Ammy tried something different with my hair, but I made sure she was really quick about it.  Who has time for fancy hairdos??
I like bananas!
Oops!  There's a bad spot on the end of this!
The family room is chilly, so we have to cover up to watch a dvd.

The Little Mermaid!

After dinner and baths, we help Papa make baked oatmeal.  Carolyn helped too, but Ammy was just not quick enough with the camera.

The Library, by Carolyn

We went to Ammy's library this morning.  There are a lot of books!  There was a little dollhouse too, and I liked playing with that.  And there were lots of puppets.

There was a water fountain down low where I could reach it and I like getting a drink by myself.  Nora likes trying too,  but she is a little short to do it by herself.   Nora also liked visiting the bathroom.  We went twice while we were there!  But she didn't like the hand dryer.  She prefers to let hers dry in the air.

Nora wanted to pull down as many books as she could quickly.  She's a quick reader, I think.  But the librarian lady sort of glared, and Nora would hardly get started on a shelf, and Ammy would zoom over there and stop her.

Monday morning, by Carolyn

I helped make pancakes.  I am a very good egg-cracker!
 Nora did some coloring,
but I like to make sticker pictures.
We saw crocuses in the garden, so we know it must be springtime.  It's a bright sunny day today, but it is still cold.

Good Morning, by Nora

I greeted Ammy today with crying. "Poopies!" I called. Now Ammy is a true grandma, and she knew that watching little girls would mean some dirty work. But I am not sure she signed up for this!

When she came into my room, I was not wearing any clothes at all. And I think you can guess the rest of the picture. Funny thing, Ammy always has that red camera, but she did not go and get it this morning. She scooped me up, and we went off to the tubs. Then I had TWO baths! One to wash away, and one to wash me clean. I like baths and this part was ok by me.

Ammy said something about "detecting a theme here." But I can tell the gears in that old brain are working double time, to try to figure out how to keep me in clothes at night. Sometimes, I love being a challenge.

In the night, by Nora

About 1030pm last night, I was crying and crying. Ammy came into my room and I said "Jammies!" Ammy picked me up and felt my cold skin! She put my jammies back on me and left me toasty warm for the rest of the night. It's really too bad that it's so much fun to take my jammies off. But I cannot figure out how to put them back on again!

Animals and Books, by Carolyn

Nora has a caterpillar and I have a ladybug.  There are books that go with the animals.
I have read The Grouchy Ladybug three times now!  I like the friendly ladybug best.

Sunday, by Nora

After church, we had macaroni and cheese, which I REALLY liked.
I don't know what it is about taxes that makes everyone so cranky.  I was very interested, and I feel quite sure I could have been helpful, if given half a chance.
I enjoyed looking through Ammy's Bible, which she calls a hymnbook.
Ammy lets me play with this nice church that makes music.  She looks nervous when I climb on the piano and grab it to bring it down and when I twist the crank in the back to wind it up.   But, still she does not take it from me, so I know she must love me very much.
And there are always the Russians to play with here!
